PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain pulsation in the flow of a hydraulic fluid of a hydraulic elevator by forming an electric field in an electrofluid in a hydraulic elevator system, and keeping the electrofluid in a prescribed state. ;SOLUTION: Electrodes 48, 50 for inducing an electric field in an electrofluid 54 are the same as a shape of the electrofluid 54, and have a large number of holes 52, and the electrofluid 54 includes polymethacrylate lithium suspended in chlorinated paraffin with a polymer as the basis, and smoothly transfers to a solid from liquid and to liquid from a solid when voltage is changed. When an upstream sensor 30 cannot detect pressure pulsation only a little in a hydraulic fluid 16, since a control device 28 holds the electrofluid 54 as a solid by sending sufficient voltage to the electrodes 48, 50, pressure is not applied to a pressure absorbing fluid 56 of an upper part 42. To the contrary, when the upstream sensor 30 detects the pressure pulsation, the control device 28 partially reduces voltage of the electrodes, partially changes the electrofluid 54 to liquid from a solid in a prescribed range, and transmits the pulsation to the pressure absorbing fluid from the hydraulic fluid to absorb the pulsation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
