PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch an incoming gate of a 2-way amplifier as required from a terminal equipment side. ;SOLUTION: In the switching method for an incoming gate to conduct/ interrupt an incoming signal sent to a transmission line 1 switching a gate switch 3 for the 2-way amplifier 2 connecting to the transmission line 1, a gate switching signal is sent from a terminal equipment to the transmission line 1 with the incoming signal and part of the incoming signal is branched this side of the gate switch 3 in the 2-way amplifier 2 and the gate switch 3 is open based on a gate switching signal in the branched incoming signal. Furthermore, the CATV use two-way amplifier provided with the gate switch 3 is provided with a branching device 4 branching part of the incoming signal including the gate switching signal at this side of the gate switch 3 and a signal detection/gate drive circuit 5 extracting the gate switching signal from the branched signal and driving the switching of the gate switch 3 depending on the state of the signal.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
