PURPOSE:To perform an output control improving the response characteristic with no substantial deterioration of engine efficiency, by connecting a reactive chamber to working space, working space to a buffer chamber and the buffer chamber to the reactive chamber through the respective passages so that a pressure in the working space is regulated. Accordingly, the engine, adjusting the opening and closing timing of the opening and closing valves and their opening and closing time so as to change the mean pressure of gas in the working space 5, enables an engine output to be regulated.
