PURPOSE:To perform an output control improving the response characteristic with no substantial deterioration of engine efficiency, by connecting a reactive chamber to working space, working space to a buffer chamber and the buffer chamber to the reactive chamber through the respective passages so that a pressure in the working space is regulated. CONSTITUTION:When an opening and closing valve 27 is opened, working gas in working space 5 generates a minimum pressure almost equal to a maximum pressure of gas in a reactive chamber 6 through a check valve 24. Under this condition, if opening and closing valves 26, 29 are opened, gas in an engine is evacuated being removed to a buffer chamber 30, and the engine is charged inside with a minimum amount of gas. Here the engine, if it closes the opening and closing valves 27, 29 while opens an opening and closing valve 28, minimizes a pressure of gas in the working space 5 generating a minimum output. Next the engine, if it opens the opening and closing valves 27, 29 and closes the opening and closing valve 26, maximizes a pressure of gas in the working space 5 generating a maximum output with the engine charged inside with gas from the buffer chamber 30. Accordingly, the engine, adjusting the opening and closing timing of the opening and closing valves and their opening and closing time so as to change the mean pressure of gas in the working space 5, enables an engine output to be regulated.
