PURPOSE:To provide a digestive ulcer, gastritis-preventing, treating agent reduced in the recurrence, reacerbation of the diseases and also in the adverse reaction thereof by using the hydrochloride of a specific pyrimidone derivative as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:An agent contains 5,6-diemthyl-2-[4-3-(1-piperidinomethyl) phenoxycis-2-butenylamino]-4-(1H)-pyrimidone hydrochloride as an active ingredient. The administration amount of the agent for a human adult is 10-300 mg/day converted into the amount of the hydrochloride salt thereof as an oral administration agent, an amount of 1/2-1/10 of the above administration amount for injection agents or mucosal administration agents and an amount of 1-5 times that of the administration amount for external agents. The compound of formula I is prepared by reacting 4-(3-hydroxymethylphenoxy)-cis-2- butenylamine of formula II with a compound of formula III (X is nitroamino, halogeno, etc.), and subsequently reacting the reaction product with a halogen and further with piperidine.
