PURPOSE:To prevent evaporation of moisture from the concrete surface and prevent cracking with instantaneously making a film even in any bad condition by using a raw material comprising emulsion of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer resin containing a polyvinyl alcohol and a boron compound. CONSTITUTION:The aimed dryness-preventing agent for mortar or concrete contains emulsion of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer resin (EVA emulsion) containing a polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) and a boron compound as principal components. In performing dryness-prevention of mortar or concrete using the above-mentioned dryness-preventing agent, the EVA emulsion containing the PVA and an aqueous solution of the boron compound are alternatively used to form a film. Although the film-forming method with the EVA emulsion and the aqueous solution of the boron compound is not particularly restricted, a method using coating or spraying is preferable.
