摘要

PURPOSE:To accomplish mass production of highly water-soluble madder coloring matter by inoculating Agrobacterium rhizogenes into madder and making a culture to form hairy roots followed by extraction treatment of said hairy roots. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, Agrobacterium rhizogenes such as Agrobacterium rhizogenes ATCC 15834 or Agrobacterium rhizogenes ATCC 13332 is inoculated into madder (Rubia cordifolia such as Rubia tinctorum) or an analogous plant thereof. Thence, the inoculated madder is put to culture to form hairy roots followed by extraction of madder coloring matter from said roots, thus collecting the objective madder coloring matter. For said culture, sunlight is monessential; therefore, the culture can normally made in the dark, and the objective madder coloring matter is extracted from the hairg roots produced, followed by purification.
