PURPOSE: To obtain the subject fluid which is improved in an ability to prolong the life of a rolling bearing without detriment to its flame retardancy, low- temperature pour, compatibility with metal, etc., by incorporating a product of neutralization of glycerol borate with a base. ;CONSTITUTION: A glycerol borate obtained by reacting glycerol with boric anhydride or boron trichloride is added to an aqueous solution of a base to obtain a neutralized product. 0.1-2wt.% this product is added to a flame- retarding water/glycol hydraulic fluid comprising 25-50wt.% glycol, 10-20wt.% thickening agent and 35-50wt.% water.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
