PURPOSE:To readily and efficiently obtain the titled polysaccharide substance having antitumor action, by extracting a fruit body of Agaricus blazei Murr. with hot water and purifying the extract solution by a method for precipitation with an alcohol, etc. CONSTITUTION:A fruit body of Agaricus blazei Murr. which is a mushroom of the genus Agaricus is extracted with hot water and the resultant extract solution is then purified by a method for precipitation with an alcohol, ion exchange chromatography and gel filtration to afford the aimed polysaccharide substance.
