PURPOSE:To obtain a water treating agent compsn. capable of forming a strong anticorrosive coating film on the inside of a boiler even in environment at high temp. by using one on several kinds of specified components. CONSTITUTION:This water treating agent compsn. contains one or more kinds of components selected among citric acid, gluconic acid, tartaric acid and salts of the acids, reducing sugar and alkali metal hydroxide. The corrosion of a steam boiler especially in environment at high temp. can be prevented only by maintaining a certain concn. (amt.) of this compsn. in boiler water.
