PURPOSE: To produce high quality blended worsted yarns of acrylic fibers and wool at a low cost at high speed by making good use of a cotton-spinning machine. ;CONSTITUTION: Acrylic fibers of 30-65 mm length in an amount of 40-90 wt.% and 10-60 wt.% wool top of 45-65 HM length are slivered and mixed with each other and acrylic fibers/wool blended slivers constituted of thermally shrinkable acrylic fibers in the acrylic fibers are set by a gauge so that the wool can be normally drafted in a first draft stage. In a second draft stage, the respective gaps between respective front rollers and back rollers are set by a gauge so that the acrylic fibers can be normally drafted in the cotton-spinning machine. Blended slivers are finely spun by a white spinning method after passing through the first and second draft stages and other necessary stages.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
