PURPOSE: To obtain a shaped article having a high m.p. and a high service temp. by shaping and crosslinking a blend of rubber which is a specified (co)polymer and a crystalline (co)polymer from an ethylene monomer. ;CONSTITUTION: A blend of rubber and plastic is shaped and subjected to free- radical crosslinking to obtain the objective shaped article. The rubber is a homo- or copolymer from a conjugated diene monomer or an ethylene-propylene copolymer optionally contg. a small amt. of a non-conjugated diene monomer. The rubber has the form of discrete crosslinkable particles dispersed in a continuous phase of the plastic. The plastic is a crystalline polymer or copolymer from an ethylene monomer. The amt. of the rubber in the blend is variable in the range of 15-85 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt., in total, of the rubber and plastic and the amt. of the plastic is variable in the range of 85-15 pts.wt.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO
