PURPOSE: To prepare a compd. useful as a crosslinking agent for thermoplastic polyolefin. ;CONSTITUTION: The mixed compd. of the formula I and the formula II [(m) is 0 to 8; (n) is 2 to 8; R is vinyl, methoxy, ethoxy, 1-18C alkyl, isoalkyl or cycloalkyl, which has at most one vinyl substituent per silicon, the molar ratio of vinyl to alkoxy being (1:1) to (1:8) and the molar ratio of vinyl to alkyl being (1:0) to (1:8). The mixture is obtd. by condensing vinyltrialkoxysilane and optionally alkyltrialkoxysilane and/or tetraalkoxysilane at 20 to 80°C in an alcoholic soln. by using HCl as a catalyst with an amt. of water calculated for the degree of oligomerization.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO
