PURPOSE: To evaluate accurately the corrosion of a steel material in concrete. ;CONSTITUTION: An electrolytic solution 6 is filled up in a detecting-end vessel 2 having a cover 5 made of a water-permeable material, and counter electrodes 7 and a reference electrode disposed opposite to them and current line control electrodes 9 and a reference electrode 10 disposed opposite to these electrodes are provided in the electrolytic solution 6 or the cover 5. A probe for monitoring corrosion is constructed by connecting the counter electrodes 7, the current line control electrodes 9 and the reference electrodes 8 and 10 to potentiostats. The cover 5 in the probe is brought into close contact with the surface of concrete 4 and put in electric continuity with a steel material 1 in the concrete, electrochemical measurement is executed by the probe and the state of the corrosion of the steel material in the concrete is evaluated from electrochemical characteristic values.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
