An apparatus for the production of a silica capillary column for gas chromatography

PURPOSE:To produce the quartz capillary column having the thickness of a solid phase uniform in a longitudinal direction at high speed by providing temp. setting means which respectively set the temps. of a delivery thermostatic chamber, reaction chamber and take-up thermostatic chamber at prescribed relations. CONSTITUTION:A quartz capillary 1 in which a polyethylene glycol soln. is packed is wound around a drum 2 and is housed into the air thermostatic chamber 3. The temp. of the air thermostatic chamber 3 is controlled to 20+ or -1 deg.C. The quartz capillary 1 drawn out of the drum 2 is sent into a thermostatic water tank 5. The water tank 5 is set at 70 deg.C. The water 6 in the thermostatic water tank 5 is stirred by a pump 7 and heated by a heater 8. The heater 8 is on-off controlled to maintain the water 6 at a specified temp. by a temp. detector. The capillary 1 passes the inside of the water 6 and is heated from the circumference, by which the solid phase 24 is formed in the capillary 1. The quartz capillary column 1a formed with the solid phase is taken up on the take-up drum 9 in the air thermostatic chamber 10 kept at 80 deg.C.
