PURPOSE:To provide both satisfactory water permeability and support strength with simple work by using materials formed by mixing aluminum oxide and other inorganic materials with main components of water granulated slag and cement for subgrades of rail way or the like. CONSTITUTION:Water granulated slag is mixed with 5-30wt.% of cement, 0.005-0.75wt.% of aluminum oxide, 0.06-4wt.% of silicon dioxide, 0.005-0.75wt.% of calcium oxide, 0.001-0.25wt.% of sulfur trioxide and 0.001-0.25wt.% of magnesium oxide to make a water permeable subgrade material. Next, the subgrade materials are laid at a predetermined height and then subjected to water sprinkling or pressurized lightly only on the upper part after the water sprinkling. Thus, the subgrade to meet both satisfactory water permeability and support strength can be built in a short time by a simple operation.
