PURPOSE:To enable a distance between the center of a rotary shaft and the center of oscillation to be shortened even when a cam plate angle is enlarged so as to secure a certain operation by inclining a cam plate support surface disposed in a housing with respect to a state perpendicular to the center of the rotary shaft. CONSTITUTION:A piston 5 fitted in a cylinder hole 4 of a cylinder block 3 rotated together with a shaft 2 inside a housing 1 reciprocates by sliding along the fore surface 7a of a cam plate 7, to increase or decrease the volume of a cylinder chamber 6. A ball 12 is provided over the boundary part between a first and a second abutment surfaces 10, 11 formed on the back surface 7c of the cam plate, and the cam plate support surface 20 of the housing 1. The cam plate 7 is oscillated around the ball 12 so that a cam plate angle can be varied. In this case, the cam plate support surface 20 of the housing 1 is inclined with respect to a state perpendicular to the center 2a of the shaft 2. Therefore, a distance L4 from the slide surface of the piston 5 can be set short, thereby reducing oscillation resistance and securing a certain operation.
