The invention relates to the mounting of the combination of a pressing roller followed by a conveyor belt under the initial sieve belt in a potato harvesting machine, where the leaves are clamped between the pressure roller and the first shaft of the conveyor belt, the leaves are subsequently transported downwards and removed, therefore not piling up on the lower sections of the machine. The possibility is also present to fit a large crushing roller at the end of the said conveyor belt, which will crush any small tubers that have fallen through the first sieve belt.
