The invention relates to the machining of the timber joints, which are required for cross-jointing of log- house corners that deviate from a right angle, such that logs of equal thickness and different size, planed or sawn to a cross-section of a certain shape, form a tight and durable cross-joint. According to the invention the device for machining the log timber joints, viewed from the feed direction of the log that lies on top of the supporting guide elements, comprises the actual machine support frame 1, to which the upper bit pair assembly frame 2, which contains a vertical machining bit pair 4 and a horizontal machining bit pair 6, is fixed by way of the bearing surface 3, and to which the lower bit pair assembly frame 8, which contains a vertical machining bit pair 10 and a horizontal machining bit pair 12, is connected by way of the bearing surface 9. The same bit pair assembly can machine the timber joints that are to be made on top of 18, below and in the sides of the log. The frames 2 and 8 of the bit pair assemblies can each be turned in relation to the actual stationary support frame 1 of the machine. The bearing surfaces 3 and 9 are turned on the same vertical axis. When either the upper or the lower bit pair assembly is turned, the machining angles of the bit pairs 4, 6, 10 and 12 are simultaneously adjusted in relation to the log 18 that is being machined. The height and width of the log is taken into account through adjustment of the width and machining depth of the bit. The length of the bit feed movement is adjusted to the width of the log, so that the centre of the bit passes the outside of the log. IMAGE
