The present invention relates to an automatic distributor for transplanting units, capable of inserting a seedling in the transplanting section without human assistance, for the purpose of planting out the seedling. The innovation consists in the positioning of these distributors on a robust self-powered or towed frame, at adjustable distances from each other, the distributors operating in combination with the transplanting section which receives the plant in the correct position and then plants it. The solution according to the present invention has two flat vertical guides which contain the plant-carrying cellular panels, and which have a working function in their lower part and a storage function in their upper part, a horizontal head of movable punches capable of expelling the root balls from the cellular housings, a static front separator positioned vertically and designed to separate the foliage, a set of movable clamps, the number of which is the same as the number of punches, capable of receiving the plants with their root balls and of inserting them into the final distributor.
