Support for reading material or video apparatus, to facilitate their use from a distended supine position, such as a bed, for example, and consisting of a structure, designed in various ways, capable of suitably supporting a table in a horizontal position or close to the horizontal plane at a useful distance in front of and above the eyes of a person stretched supine below it. The above-mentioned table is made up in turn, in one application of the invention, by a transparent plate above which it is possible to lay the material to read turned downwards and oriented in such a way as to be correctly legible, being transparent, by the person stretched in a supine position below. In another application of the invention, the above table is made up, instead, of the screen of a video apparatus, turned downwards and oriented in such a way as to be completely observable by the same person stretched supine below.
