A "stocking" bridge for large spans and for highly seismic areas and those subject to strong atmospheric turbulence, consisting of a group of relatively thin steel cables, interwoven together, attached at the nodes, working under traction and joined by spacing hoops of closed contour, having supports and links bearing the roadway, the largest of which are secured to the foundation pylons and the smallest ones, equally spaced from each other and supported by the strands and cables themselves, are of decreasing size as far as the middle of the span, where the minimum cross section is dimensioned so as to allow the passage of the means of transportation through this point, travelling along the supported roadway, as is illustrated in the following figure, and according to the following description.
