The implement, partic a mower, has a control system for the pressure under which it bears against the ground. Its housing is supported by a land roller (19). A control unit acting on a boom lifting ram regulates ground pressure. The head (41) of a detector (39) for vertical movement of the roller acts directly against the latter. The roller spindle (27) can be suspended from the free end of a protruding spring-steel bar (31) with which the head is in contact. There can be a sensor at each roller end and they can be inductive, their output signal being fed to a summation unit forming a mean value. The control unit can have a comparator stage, being connected to a desired value emitter and regulating a proportional valve limiting pressure in the ram.
