A product having repellent effects, particularly on wild animals, and consisting of granules of an inert absorbent material such as bentonite which are impregnated with a foul-smelling agent preferably consisting of animal oil or maize meal impregnated with a foul-tasting agent which preferably consists of picric acid. The product is used by scattering the granules around the edge of the area to be protected.
