New derivatives of 5-amino salicylic acid Compounds of formula I in which the 4-hydroxy-3- carboxyphenylazo radical can be in the 3 or 4 position in the benzene ring, R1 represents C1-4 alkyl or C3-7 cycloalkyl, R2 represents hydrogen or halogen, a, b and c represent CR6 where each R6 represents hydrogen or C1-4 alkyl, R3 and R4 represent hydrogen, C1-6 alkyl, C-3-7 cycloalkyl or C3-7-cycloalkyl-C1-6 alkyl, or R3 and R4 together form a C2-6 polymethylene chain, R5 represents -COR7, -COOH, -COOR7, -CONR8R9, -C1-6 alkyl-OR7, -C1-6 alkyl-OC(=O)R7 or -C1-6 alky-OC(=O)NR8R9, R7 represents C1-6 alkyl, C2-6 alkenyl, C2-6 alkinyl, C3-7 cycloalkyl and C1-6 haloalkyl, R8 and R9 represent hydrogen or any of the meanings described for R7, Z represents -(CH2)mCO- or -(CH2)n-, m is 0, 1 or 2 and n is 1 or 2.
