A multi-component back, especially for folders, albums and the like, to hold perforated items like single pages or bound pages like files, brochures or the like, having two strips (1, 1') securable by covers (3) having dowels (4) and recesses (5) therefor and also substantially rigidly secured connecting attachments perpendicular thereto, and an intermediate component (7) having recesses on its sides facing the strips (1, 1') for the connecting attachments, in which at least one slide (11) is held in the intermediate component (7) which, in an end position, engages in recesses (12) in the connecting attachments and locking them and in a second end position releases the connecting attachments, said slide (11) having a handle (17). In order to be able easily to produce such backs, the slide(s) (11) is/are held in a groove (10) having a cross-section widening towards the bottom and made in the side of the intermediate component (7) facing the pages to be secured.
