摘要

The invention concerns the use of iron oxide as a wear- and cavitation-inhibiting additive in plastics sliding layers of composite bearings for oil-lubricated applications, the sliding layers predominantly consisting of thermoplastic fluoropolymers. The addition of iron oxide to PTFE-based materials reduces the destruction of the sliding surface owing to the appearance of cavitation if the materials are used in the presence of oil.
