A base material for the prodn. of colour test prints in the analogue proof system, comprising a substrate coated with a layer contg. a hydrophobic binder or binder mixt. and a pigment mixt. contg. hollow microspheres. Binders are based on acrylate ester, vinyl acetate, vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate copolymer, polystyrene, polyurethane, PVC, PVDC, styrene/butadiene copolymer or styrenated acrylate ester. The hollow microspheres consist of styrene/acrylate copolymer, and the pigment mixt. contains TiO2, CaCO3, ZnO, ZnS, ZnSO4, Sb2O3, CaSO4, BaSO4, kaolin, talcum or their mixts.. Pref. pigment mixt. contains 10-80 (pref. 30-70) wt% TiO2 and 10-80 (pref. 30-70) wt% microspheres. The coating layer contains 15-95 (pref. 20-80, esp. pref. 20-50) wt% binder and 5-85 (pref. 50-80) wt% pigment.
