Use of water-insoluble copolymers of maleinimide and its derivates as a high molecular compound with microbiocidal effect in plastic

Use of a water insoluble copolymerisate from maleimide and/or its derivs. and vinyl-analogue monomers in plastics in order to produce microbicidal agents. Pref. the copolymerisate contains at least a bifunctional comonomer and is prepared by radical polymerisation. The vinyl-analogue monomer is acrylate- and/or methacrylic ester, vinyl acetate, vinyl chloride, vinyl ether, acrylonitrile, allyl ether, styrene and styrene derivs. Plastic materials such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polyamide and polystyrene are pref. used to contain the copolymerisate.
