The method includes three successive phases which are controlled as a function of the internal temperature Ti and of the external temperature Te: a) When Ti is very much greater than Te as a consequence of the greenhouse effect, the air inside the passenger compartment is renewed by taking in external air at a high flow rate. b) When Ti is close to Te, the air conditioning is switched fully on using recycled air in order rapidly to approach a reference temperature. c) When this reference temperature is reached, the air flow rate and the speed of the compressor are lowered simultaneously whilst remaining in recycle mode. This process makes it possible for a vehicle, which has been left in the sun, to be at an agreeable temperature when one returns to it, for a reduced energy consumption. IMAGE
