A digital cellular modem system emulator for testing functions of a mobile station in a CDMA digital cellular system is disclosed. In the emulator, a central processing unit(11) performs all kinds of controls and data processing. A serial input/output device(12) sequentially transmits data through one communication line one bit by one bit. A memory(14) stores an emulation software and data. The memory(14) includes a hardware device operating means(21), a main control operating means(22), a transmit operating means(23), and a receiving operating means(24). The hardware device operating means(21) tests an operation of a hardware related to a system software. The main control operating means(22) gives a command to each operating means in order to produce various operations. The transmit operating means(23) generates data to be transmitted and transmits the data to a transmit frame buffer. The receiving operating means(24) decodes the frame symbol data from the hardware device operating means(21).
