The present invention relates to metallocene compounds having two cyclopentadienyl rings crosslinked by alkylidene groups, and these metallocene compounds can be suitably used as catalyst components for olefin polymerization. In particular, when propylene is polymerized in the presence of a catalyst mainly composed of the metallocene compound, polymers having very high isotactic embroidery, high molecular weight and narrow molecular weight distribution can be obtained in high yield.
