The present invention discloses a method for removing and preventing scales using a soap composition comprising as an ingredient an acid and a base in a 1: 1 stoichiometric equivalent ratio. For example, the acid is an organic carboxylic acid or an inorganic acid. The base is an amine or ammonia. The organic acid is formed of formic acid, acetic acid, propionic acid, citric acid, glycolic acid, lactic acid, tartaric acid, polyacrylic acid, succinic acid, sulfonic acid, gluconic acid, benzoic acid, salicylic acid and mixtures thereof. The inorganic acid comprises hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, phosphoric acid, polyphosphoric acid, hydrofluoric acid, boric acid, sulfuric acid, sulfurous acid and mixtures thereof.
