FIELD: regulation of plant nitrogen-assimilating regime. SUBSTANCE: method involves active probing of earth surface by side-looking radars mounted on satellites. Architectonics of winter wheat sowing pattern and biochemical composition of plants are substantially defined by nitrogen nutrition level, particularly with nitrogen fertilizers, and change the character of returned signal, which makes a basis for thematic decoding of radar images. Practical usage of method involves selecting standard sown fields or plots of winter wheat having different nitrogen content in the region under control or providing special tests with different (increasing) nitrogen fertilizer dosages; determining nitrogen substance content in indicative plant organs within diagnosis terms by traditional chemical methods; comparing standard sown fields or plots with production fields by calculating functional dependence of returned signals of side-looking radars on nitrogen content of plants growing in standard (key) fields or plots; extrapolating produced results by return function on production sown fields or plots of winter wheat. EFFECT: increased efficiency, minimized diagnosis costs, wider areas that may be controlled for nitrogen nutrition content and reliable results of tests.
