FIELD: steam power plants. SUBSTANCE: use is made of two-component working medium. Gaseous component is compressed in cylinder by piston; when piston reaches top dead center, second component - liquid heat-transfer agent is injected into cylinder; second component is preliminarily heated to temperature equal to or exceeding temperature of gaseous component. Liquid heat-transfer agent is fed continuously in portions in accordance with law for maintenance of constant temperature during half of piston stroke from top dead center to bottom dead center; liquid heat-transfer agent may supplied in pulsation mode when piston is in top dead center. Power plant for realization of this method has two closed loops for supply of two-component working medium: loop for supply of liquid heat-transfer agent includes the following units connected in series: hydraulic tank with heating jacket, pump for supplying the liquid heat-transfer agent to pneumohydraulic accumulator provided with receiver through check valve, adjustable throttle, injector and cylinder of compression-expansion machine fitted with heating jacket; cylinder of this machine is connected with condenser and hydraulic tank through exhaust port. Second loop intended for supply of gaseous component of working medium includes air filter and cylinder of compression-expansion machine connected in series through intake port of air filter.
