FIELD: medicine, cardiology. SUBSTANCE: following procedure is recommended: measurements are made of left ventricle's beat volume and of maximum blood expulsion rate in rest condition and under load condition when patient is ordered to lift straightened lower extremities at angle of 45 deg. Data thus obtained constitute basis for calculating factor K using proposed mathematical formula , wherein УО1 is beat volume in starting condition, УО2 is beat volume under load, (СИmax)1 is maximum blood expulsion rate in rest condition, and (СИmax)2 is maximum blood expulsion rate under load. If factor K is less than 6, cardiologist makes judgement that patient's left ventricle has no functional reserve. EFFECT: proposed approach makes it possible to determine functional reserve of heart's left ventricle noninvasively at earliest stages of developing acute myocardial infarction by detecting exhaustion of myocardium's functional reserve.
