APPARATUS FOR CONDUCTING RESEARCH INTO RESPIRATION AND GAS EXCHANGE IN ANIMALS PERFORMING MUSCULAR WORK

FIELD: experimental medicine and physiology. SUBSTANCE: proposed apparatus comprises tread-band with racing band, chamber enclosing animal, power drive control unit for racing band, and stimulating voltage source with electrodes. Apparatus further comprises funnel in form of truncated pyramid secured directly above racing band so that its face would be parallel to band plane, and respiration frequency sensor arranged on inner surface of funnel, near minor base of pyramid. Gas intake pipe is also attached to minor base of pyramid. Animal position sensor is attached to inner surface of funnel near its major base. Chamber is provided with sealing gaskets and has connection branch pipe with inlet check valve. Control unit is connected by its input with animal position sensor, while its first output is connected with stimulating voltage source, its second output - with respiration frequency sensor, and its third output - with gas analyzer.
