FIELD: chromatographic technique in biochemistry. SUBSTANCE: fetal biologic material is treated by lanthanum chloride, dialyzed against phosphate buffer, chromatographed on blue sepharose, purified on alumina, whereupon partly purified preparation is subjected to two-step affinity chromatography procedure on antibody-containing immunosorbents: first on "positive" sorbent - sepharose with immobilized antibodies monospecific to alfa-fetoprotein and then on "negative" sorbent - sepharose with immobilized antibodies polyspecific to ballast proteins. High-purity alfa-fetoprotein satisfying human biological safety criteria is thus obtained. EFFECT: increased purity of isolated protein. 6 cl, 1 tbl
