METHOD OF OPERATIVE TREATMENT OF FOURTH DEGREE BURNS IN THE REGION OF FUNCTIONALLY IMPORTANT ANATOMIC STRUCTURES EXEMPLIFIED BY RAT TAIL

FIELD: treatment of burns. SUBSTANCE: method is distinguished with early excision of necrosed skin with subcutaneous fat and fascia and placing wound surface into sterile apyrogenic 0.9% sodium chloride solution until complete rejection of necrosed tissue takes place. Solution is replaced 10-14 times a day, which, thanks to turbulent flow of liquid being replaced, assists fast rejection of necrosed tissue and partial removal of necrotic mass. Because wound remains uncovered, probability of abscess or phlegmon formation is reduced, which is of special importance when a burn is coupled with mechanical injury. Solution produces tissue-protective effect preventing development of secondary necrosis of functionally important anatomic structures (vascular-nervous bundles, tendons, bone formations) and assists recovery process in wound. EFFECT: reduced treatment period and prevented secondary necrosis.
