The device has a base body (1) made of ceramic material and supported on an outer contour of burner tubes of a thermal process system. A surface wave sensor element (3) is arranged in the body and records parameters of hot and aggressive process medium in the tubes. The sensor element is in operative connection with an antenna structure (4) via a contact (7). The antenna structure is supported in a functional operative region (41) in the body and passes over from the operative region into mounting regions (42) outside the body. The base body is covered using a cover (11).
