The system has an alarm triggering device (12) and an alarm signal output unit (14) corresp. to the transmitter and receiver section (16,18) of a mobile telephone (20). A power supply section (22) is provided for the transceiver section. A self-selection device (24) is connected to the alarm signal output unit and is activated by the alarm triggering device. The information carrier device (26) is connected to the transceiver section and the power supply section is a rechargeable battery for the mobile telephone. The self-selection device selects an emergency telephone number or a predetermined user-selected number.
