The motor casing (1) is encompassed by an axially and/or radially rotatable or slidable enclosure (2) made of conductive material. The enclosure is annular in form and may be a closed or open ring. The enclosure extends approximately over the axial length of the stator or over one part of it. The axial length of the enclosure is less than that of the stator. Several enclosures may be located next to each other. The enclosure can be fixed to the casing by spot welds.
