The arrangement has a coolant circuit contg. a compressor, evaporator and a liquefier. The evaporator and liquefier are mounted on and/or in the vehicle roof with a pipe connection to a ram chamber in the underfloor region, esp. in the rear. The compressor can also be mounted on and/or in the roof and a source of the driving force for the compressor is mounted in the ram chamber (16). The pipe connection carries the driving energy from the source of the drive force to the compressor, e.g. electrical energy from a generator (18) carried by a cable (26) in the pipe connection.
