A cosmetic contains solely (a) oils and (b) ethanol and/or isopropanol. Pref. the oils are Guerbet alcohols based on 6-18C (8-10C) fatty alcohols, esters of linear 6-20C fatty acids with linear 6-20C fatty alcohols, esters of branched 6-13C carboxylic acids with linear 6-20C fatty alcohols, esters of linear 6-18C fatty acids with branched alcohols, esters of linear and/or branched fatty acids with poly-alcohols and/or Guerbet alcohols. triglycerides based on 6-10C fatty acids, plant oils, branched prim. alcohols, substd. cyclohexanes, Guerbet carbonates, dialkyl ethers and/or aliphatic or naphthenic hydrocarbons. The ratio by wt. of oil:alcohol is 75:25 to 95:5.
