An assembly sterilises water. The novelty is that: (a) an ozone-producing UV-emitter (1) is arranged within a first chamber (17) into which air is introduced; (b) that the first chamber (17) is linked to a distributor assembly (7) within a second chamber (15) separated from the first chamber (17) and which receives a continual supply of water, and (c) that the ozone produced by the UV-emitter is discharged by the distributor (7) into the water within the second chamber (15) where it sterilises the water.
