The processor has a rotary drum (20) lying within a housing (1) which can be filled with hot gas, the drum rotating horizontally round a shaft (17) led out of both ends of the housing. The drum bearing lies outside the hot interior (1c) on the two protruding ends of the shaft. The hot interior is sealed off externally by seals (12,15) which are mounted on the shafts and arranged between bearings (11,14) and the housing endfaces (1c,1d). Drum and shafts are connected by means of arcuate spokes (22) which engage the drum casing (2) at support points (21). The hollow shaft (17) has radial outlets (17a) in the drum area as well as an inlet (17c) at one end and a seal (17d) at the other. Otherwise the drum revolves between two opposing shafts of which the shaft on the drive side contains the power transmission element (17d), as opposed to the other shortened hollow shaft (17), and is connected at the shaft ends entering the drum to the drum casing at support points (21a,21b). The shaft or drum casing is fitted with scoop mixing etc blades (23,24) within the drum area and a fan (5) above the drum on the outlet side is followed by guide surfaces and an adjoining dust separator (6).
