The adapter for use with a prosthesis has two planes of adjustment (10,11) made from a circular plate which each have an adjustment mechanism. Each plane of adjustment has a swallow tail guide (13) in which slots (14) are situated positioned by adjuster screws (16). The adjuster screws are connected to a coupling piece (15), which moves when the screws are turned. Between the two planes is an intermediate piece (20), with counter guides to the swallow tail guides. A circular hole (19) is located, at the cross over point of the two slots, which accepts the coupling piece. With the relative adjustment of the coupling piece, within either of the adjustment planes, the planes are moveable relative to each other. The achieved adjustment can be read from a scale.
