Liquefied gas e.g. LNG fuel supply unit for IC engine

The fuel tank for the LNG powered vehicle is pressurised and has a pressure controlled venting valve (10) to remove methane gas if the fuel tank pressure rises above a set level. This excess gas is burnt in a burner (11) and the harmless burn products vented to the outside. The burner can be an automatic burner eg. for heating the catalyser and is used to pre-heat a heat store eg. engine coolant when the vehicle is parked. Alternately the excess gas can be disposed off by running the engine for a time, with automatic start, and charging the battery.
