The bale press has several steel pressing rollers (16) whose surfaces have ten longitudinal ribs (17,19,20) spread out over the circumference so that they lie not at the same time in two longitudinal centre planes (18,22) orthogonal relative to each other. The pressing roller can be made of two interconnected half shells. The ribs can be arranged angularly off-set to each other.
