The polyethylene housing sleeve encloses the ball (4) and the two polyethylene pipe connections (1, 2), using complementarily sawtoothed interfaces (10.1, 10.2) between housing and the two connections for their mutual engagement. The housing is in turn sprayed with a plastics jacket (8) equipped with the necessary activating end stops. The plug sits in a bearing shell (13) within the housing (3) or jacket (8) so this (8) if used encloses both stops and housing in the axial sense. The bearing shell (13) has an endface seal working onto both plug and housing. The pipe connection teeth should be asymmetric, the teeth flanks facing the ball (4) at a smaller angle to the ballcock axis than the other flanks. There is a gap between the engaged flanks of at least two teeth at the connection interface, and four bolts sprayed onto the side opposing the cock home in a baseplate as provided.
