Calculating frequency dependent complex or real parameters of lossy lines in HF region for components

The method calculates the frequency dependent, complex or real, parameters of a lossy line made up of lead segments. The calculation of the lossy lines is carried out using the characteristic parameters e.g. wave resistance and propagation constants, of the different line segments. The characteristic parameters are determined from measuring reference lines on the same substrate. The lines to be calculated may have leads of different lengths wherein only a new calculation results using already determined parameters. The lossy lines may be made up of discontinuities. The lines and reference lines may be arranged on a semiconductor substrate insulated by an oxide layer or may lie on an insulating material.
